The journey began with Hacktrix 2007, India's first international cybersecurity conference, hosted in Maharashtra. At a time when cybersecurity was still an emerging discipline in the country, Hacktrix created a groundbreaking space for ethical hackers, researchers, law enforcement, and young technologists to converge. It laid the foundation for a new era of cyber awareness, capacity building, and community-driven innovation.

Building on Hacktrix's success, a series of national and international conferences titled Securing CyberSpace were organized over the next decade. These conferences expanded the conversation beyond technical cyber issues into policy and regulatory frameworks, cybercrime investigations, critical infrastructure security, public awareness and cyber hygiene, and industry–government collaboration. They played a critical role in nurturing India's cybersecurity ecosystem, influencing thought leadership, and empowering institutions across sectors.

The movement reached a global milestone with the Global CyberPeace Summit held as part of the G20 Summit. This edition elevated the platform to international prominence and brought together governments, global tech leaders, academia, civil society, creators, and cyber professionals from across the world. The Summit introduced a new vision of cyber peace, combining cyber diplomacy, trust and safety, AI governance, cybercrime response, youth engagement, and technical resilience. It signaled India's growing leadership in shaping responsible and safe digital ecosystems worldwide.

CyberPeace Summit 2.0 continues the legacy of building a safer and more inclusive digital world. This edition deepens focus on emerging threats, AI safety, cyber diplomacy, and youth empowerment. The Summit brings together policymakers, industry leaders, researchers, and civil society to advance cyber peace, trust, and resilience on a global scale.
